Pre – School Teacher Education Course

Vision Statement

We believe that every child is unique. Our task as teachers is to create a learning  environment that is open, stimulating and supportive. An integrated approach which offers a variety of learning experiences will serve to draw out the best in every child and lead to their holistic development.

Objectives:

  • To understand the relevance and purpose of pre-school education
  • To acquire knowledge regarding the developmental stages and characteristics appropriate to each level.
  • To understand the needs of each learner.
  • To apply the principles of learning in designing the teaching programme.
  • To prepare and use a variety of learning resources
  • To acquire skills of planning, teaching and learning and assessing
  • To develop attitudes and qualities needed as a professional pre-school teacher.

Course Duration:

Nine months  (June to March ), Classes will be conducted five days a week.

Course timings:

2.00 pm to 5.00 pm

35 students

Eligibility

Criteria 1
Candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or through any other Board recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of FORTY FIVE percent marks.

Criteria 2
Candidate having passed only the Secondary School Certificate can apply provided the candidate has FORTY FIVE percent marks and a minimum of FIVE YEARS of teaching in any pre-school. A Certificate of experience is essential

Admission Procedure

  1. The prospectus is available in the Institute office from March to April.
  2. The procedure will be as stated in the Prospectus for each academic year.
  3. Candidates applying for the Pre-School Teacher Education Course must appear for the entrance test which consists of an oral and a written test in language and communication.
