Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counselling (PGDGC)
In a world marked by uncertainty and change young people are in search of security and stability. They encounter problems in their personal lives, their work situation and in interpersonal relationships. There is an urgent need for professional help in coping with these problems.
The PGDGC was established on 31st May 2003 by the Management of the Nirmala Institute of Education. Since its inception we have equipped students with knowledge and competencies necessary to function as counsellors in different settings. To address the needs of the young adolescents as they grapple with problems in their personal life, work situation and interpersonal relationships, the Nirmala Institute of Education started the Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. The course was affiliated to the Goa University from 2008 onwards.
Practical work is given priority. Students have to complete 75 hours of personal counselling and 50 hours of testing, guidance and counselling.
