D.El.Ed. Women’s Day Celebration

On the sunny morning of March 9th, 2024, excitement filled the air at Nirmala Institute of Education's at the D.EL.ED department. The day kicked off with a heartfelt prayer service led by the enthusiastic first-year Women’s Day group. With the theme “You are a Masterpiece,” the service set a positive tone for the day ahead, reminding everyone of their worth and potential.

After the uplifting prayer, it was time for the much-anticipated "Goan Fiesta." Adorned in colourful Goan attire, students and faculty alike gathered around makeshift fires (chulas), ready to embark on a culinary adventure. The aroma of spices filled the air as they cooked up a storm of traditional Goan dishes, each one sharing in the joy of preparing and indulging in the flavours of their heritage.

Among the attendees were Principal Dr. Sr. Delia Antao and community sisters, adding a sense of warmth and togetherness to the event. Divided into lively groups, students from both first and second-year levels worked side by side, exchanging laughs and culinary tips as they whipped up delectable treats ranging from sweet delicacies to hearty main courses. As the day progressed, the infectious rhythm of Goan Konkani songs filled the atmosphere, prompting spontaneous dancing and laughter.

It was a celebration of culture, friendship, and shared experiences, a day where differences melted away in the joy of coming together. By the end of the festivities, amidst full bellies and happy hearts, it was clear that this was more than just a gathering—it was a cherished memory etched in the hearts of all who attended, a testament to the power of community and the richness of Goan heritage.
