The NIE-Eco Club marked Vana Mahotsav on 17th July, 2024 with a tree plantation drive on campus, aligned with the year's (2024) theme of 'Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience' under the slogan 'Our Land, Our Future'. Dr. Delia Antao, the officiating Principal, led the participation, joined by faculty, administrative staff, and Eco-Club students. Plant saplings were distributed to students during the event.
Pre – School Teacher Education Course
We believe that every child is unique. Our task as teachers is to create a learning environment that is open, stimulating and supportive. An integrated approach which offers a variety of learning experiences will serve to draw out the best in every child and lead to their holistic development.
Objectives:
- To understand the relevance and purpose of pre-school education
- To acquire knowledge regarding the developmental stages and characteristics appropriate to each level.
- To understand the needs of each learner.
- To apply the principles of learning in designing the teaching programme.
- To prepare and use a variety of learning resources
- To acquire skills of planning, teaching and learning and assessing
- To develop attitudes and qualities needed as a professional pre-school teacher.
Course Duration:
One year part time course.
Course timings:
2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Eligibility
Criteria 1
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or through any other Board recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of FORTY FIVE percent marks.
Criteria 2
Candidate who have passed only the Secondary School Certificate can apply, provided the candidate has FORTY FIVE percent marks and a minimum of FIVE YEARS of teaching in any pre-school. A Certificate of experience is essential
Admission Procedure
- The prospectus is available in the Institute office from March to April.
- The procedure will be as stated in the Prospectus for each academic year.
- Candidates applying for the Pre-School Teacher Education Course must appear for the entrance test which consists of an oral and a written test in language and communication.
