FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON AI IMAGE GENERATORS
A Faculty Development Programme on ‘AI IMAGE GENERATORS’ under the aegis of the NIE-Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was conducted by the Mr. Raymond Pereira (Asst.Professor in Art & Aesthetics -Visual Arts, NIE), on 10/8/23. The objective of the session was to train and introduce to the faculty the finer nuances of Digital Art tools.
An Image Generator is an AI-powered tool that takes a text prompt, processes it, and creates an image that best matches the description given in the text prompt. Text prompts are textual inputs containing keywords that the AI recognizes and based on these, generates a unique visual.
The trainees were introduced to Chat GPT’s DALL-E platform via Microsoft BING, Deep AI, MidJourney and a few mobile apps DREAM by Wombo and Canva; wherein the faculty were taught how to generate a text prompt, the various features and components that make effective prompts.
After sharing various examples the participants generated various images using their own prompts in real time online.
The powerful AI tools are making it possible for anyone, regardless of skill level or experience, to create stunning and unique art. By using descriptive and specific prompts, artists and designers can bring their creative vision to life in ways that were once impossible.
