Gratitude Day Celebration
The Gratitude Day was celebrated at Nirmala Institute of Education, Panjim Goa, on 4th January 2023. The entire celebration was organised by the F.Y B.Ed. Christmas Celebration group under the guidance of Mr. Raymond Pereira. The hosts for the celebration were Miss Rachel Pereira and Miss Neerja Phadte.
The programme began with a video being played of a boy singing the song, ‘Its a Beautiful Day”. Mr Omkar Gaonkar introduced the theme of the celebration ‘Sprinkle the joy of togetherness, hope and love in thanksgiving’. A prayer service was conducted by trainee Magline Pariccha to thank the almighty for the various blessings showered upon us all along. A song ‘Thank you Lord’ was relayed in the background. The readings from the 3 holy books i.e. the Holy Bhagavad Gita, the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible were read by Miss Neerja Phadte, Miss Asma Kidiyoor and Miss Cheryl Pinto keeping to the theme Gratitude. The reflection of the Holy Bible was read by Miss Melissa Fernandes. An Intercessory prayer was conducted by Miss Clarissa Fernandes. The concluding prayer was read by Miss Bernice Augustine seeking the help of the divine providence to get us through the challenges we face in our lives and to bless all our efforts and deeds. Shortly after a video showing all the beautiful events that took place at Nirmala Institute of Education in the year 2022 was shown. A skit was enacted by the group highlighting the theme of Gratitude. A Treasure Hunt was organised by Miss Janice Fernandes and the F.Y Republic Day celebration group emerged as the winners. A Kahoot Quiz was organised by Miss Magline Parichha and the winner of the quiz was Miss Sonali Tanawade. The spot prize for the most unread WhatsApp texts was bagged by Miss Anna Karina. The spot prize for the one who finds a picture of a gift under benches was bagged by Miss Heena Shaikh. The spot prize for the most colourful bag was bagged by Miss Siddhi Bivshet. A spot prize for the person having lowest phone battery was bagged by Miss Sera Goes. The Principal Sr. Delia Antao addressed the gathering giving in insightful thoughts on how one can show and practice gratitude in daily lives. The prizes for the competition were handed over by Dr. Rita Paes and Sr.Millie Pereira. The vote of thanks was given by Miss Chikita Braganza. The celebration ended with a pound party with all students contributing mouth watering Christmas snacks.
