Goy Asmitai Dis, commemorating the historic 1967 Opinion Poll in Goa, was celebrated at Nirmala Institute of Education on 14 January 2026. As part of the celebration, Dr. Russell D’Souza, Principal of Nirmala Institute of Education, addressed the gathering, followed by an insightful session by the renowned speaker and historian, Mr. Sanjeev V. Sardesai.
'MOULD & CAST SESSION held from 25th-29th September 2023
As part of the curriculum and under the aegis of the NIE Internal Quality Assurance Cell -IQAC; the Faculty of Art & Aesthetics -Visual Arts Mr. Raymond Pereira conducted a 'MOULD & CAST SESSION' from 25th-29th September, 2023 for the F.Y. B.Ed. Trainees, batch 2023-25.
The objective of the session was to introduce the young teacher aspirants to the finer nuances of plastic art form of making Mould & Cast.
The session helped focus on the different materials, process, tools, techniques and understanding of the various aspects of a Form, its mass, volume, texture while in the process of art-making.
The trainees planned and executed various Moulds of objects in sand, impression clay, and POP. These were then cast in air drying clay, wax and also POP. Attaining these skill sets the trainees can commercially exploit and monetize on the craft.
