A session on the topic 'Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (PoSH) Act 2013' was conducted for the F.Y. and S.Y.B.Ed. students of Nirmala Institute of Education Panaji on 10th March 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the NIE Hall. The session was led by Ms. Priya Shirodkar and Ms. Abigail Fernandes, students of LLB and members of the PoSH Compliance Clinic of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar who shared valuable knowledge and guidance on the importance of creating a safe and respectful workplace environment for women.
Tree Plantation Drive at Nirmala Institute of Education in Collaboration with Vajra Youth Club
Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho, in collaboration with Vajra Youth Club, organized a Tree Plantation Drive on June 1st 2025 to mark Van Mahotsav and promote environmental conservation.
The event was graced by Ms. Maria Fernandes, Sarpanch of Taleigao, as Chief Guest; Mr. Sagar Kunkolkar, President of Vajra Youth Club, as Guest of Honour; Sr. Olga Vaz, Vice President of Nirmala Education Society; and Dr. Russel D’Souza, Principal of the Institute, Panchayat members, club representatives, B.Ed., Dl.Ed. and Pre-School Teacher Trainees.
The program included an awareness session on Environment Management by resource person Mr. Venkatesh Bettigeri, who spoke on deforestation, afforestation, waste segregation, and the importance of clean surroundings. Inspiring messages such as “Protect Nature so that Nature can Protect Us” and “When we plant a Tree, we plant Hope!” were highlighted.
The event concluded with a symbolic tree plantation on the campus, reinforcing the message that every small action contributes to a greener future.
