The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Meeting for the parents of the First Year B.Ed. students was held on 25th July 2025 at Nirmala Institute of Education. The programme was organised with the objective of fostering a strong partnership between parents and the institution in nurturing competent and resilient future educators.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer, invoking God's blessings on the gathering. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance presented by the students, which added warmth and enthusiasm to the occasion. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolised the pursuit of knowledge and marked the formal inauguration of the programme.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by the Director of Nirmala Institute of Education, Sr. Sunit Cruz, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between parents and educators in shaping the holistic development of future teachers. The Principal, Dr. Russell D'Souza, introduced the faculty and non-teaching staff to the parents and presented a comprehensive report of the institution's achievements and activities during the previous academic year. The Student Council for the academic year was then formally inducted, encouraging students to assume leadership roles and contribute actively to college life.

An important highlight of the meeting was the strengthening of the PTA Executive Committee through the induction of new office bearers. The Executive Committee continues with the existing members: Mr. Tome Joao De Souza (President), Mrs. Celestina Augusta Cabral (Secretary), Mr. Andrew Fernandes (Treasurer), Mrs. Rofina Fernandes (Member – S.Y. Student Representative), and Mrs. Daniella Colaco (Faculty Representative). The newly appointed members are: Mr. Sayed Abdul Jabar (Vice-President), Mr. John Inacio Furtado (Vice-Secretary), Mrs. Vency Fernandes (Vice-Treasurer), and Mr. Ashok I. Nagarsekar (Member – F.Y. Parent Representative).

The formal meeting was followed by an enriching session titled "Strong Roots, Free Wings: Building Resilient Future Educators", conducted by Ms. Sulaxa Gawas. The interactive session provided valuable insights into supporting student teachers in developing resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being throughout their professional journey.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Daniella Colaco, expressing gratitude to the management, parents, faculty, staff, students, and resource person for their valuable presence and contribution. The College Anthem brought the programme to a close. To commemorate the occasion and symbolise growth, unity, and shared responsibility, the PTA members planted a tree on the college campus, marking the beginning of another year of meaningful collaboration between the institution and parents.
