The Department of Physical Education and Sports, Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho-Panaji, under the aegis of IQAC, organized the 12th International Day of Yoga
on 21st June, Sunday, 2026 from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the B.Ed. Hall. The programme was conducted in accordance with the theme “Yoga for Healthy
Ageing: Transforming Daily Habit into a Culture of Wellness.” Students and staff enthusiastically participated in the celebration.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
“Leadership is not a position but a commitment to excellence”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students of the D.EL.ED. Department and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, the Nirmala institute of Education held its first ever investiture ceremony on the 2nd of July 2022 in the presence of the college Director Dr. Rita Paes and college officiating Principal Dr. Delia Antao. The ceremony commenced with a welcome march by the newly elected student council members. This was followed by lighting of the lamp and a prayer service. The elected members were conferred with badges having their respective designations. The badge ceremony was followed by the swearing-in ceremony. The elected leaders profile along with their message was displayed on the screen. The Director and the Principal addressed the gathering and congratulated the student council and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. The event concluded with a thanksgiving dance presented by the D.EL.ED. Students followed by a formal vote of thanks and College Anthem.
