Konkani Subject Day Celebration –‘Dongar Darya Jamin…Gheyat Taanchi Jatnai,Saamballat Goenchi Asmitai’

A cultural depiction of Goan identity was put up as an extravaganza, by the second year B.Ed. (2020-2022 Batch) and the First year B.Ed (2021-2023) teacher trainees of Konkani Methodology, Nirmala Institute of Education under the aegis of IQAC on 13th April 2022 from 3.15 pm  to 4.45pm at NIE, under the guidance of Mrs. Suvarna Gauns, Associate Professor Nirmala Institute of  Education.The theme  ‘Dongar Darya Jamin…Gheyat Taanchi Jatnai, Saamballat Goenchi Asmitai ‘ was chosen to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Goa @60.

The students prepared a beautiful backdrop on the above theme. Exhibition was also held related to the theme.The programme comprised of a prayer song, Namann,with a procession showing the various facets of Goan Identity, a cultural dance Fugdi with a composition of lyrics based on the theme,.Also a theme based mime focussing on the restoration and saving of the environment was enacted. In between the programme, some theme based fillers were presented highlighting values. Besides these, an educational video was prepared and presented by S.Y.B.Ed. students on the importance of Konkani Language and its promotion in day today life. To create awareness related to Goan identity, ‘Ghoshvakkyancho Gajar’ was presented by the F.Y.students. The second issue of the Konkani magazine Nirmal Yuvaavishkaar titled ‘Goenche Asmitayechi Girestkai’ was released by the Principal Dr. Delia Antao in the presence of the Director Dr.Rita Paes and senior faculty Mrs. Ximena Fonseca. The Principal Dr.Delia Antao appreciated the students for their splendid performance through her speech and shared her thoughts about the richness of the mother tongue Konkani.  The programme was compered by Dakshita, Aashita, Priyanka, Gayatri and Saneela.
