Goy Asmitai Dis, commemorating the historic 1967 Opinion Poll in Goa, was celebrated at Nirmala Institute of Education on 14 January 2026. As part of the celebration, Dr. Russell D’Souza, Principal of Nirmala Institute of Education, addressed the gathering, followed by an insightful session by the renowned speaker and historian, Mr. Sanjeev V. Sardesai.
Mass Pledge Activity held under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA)
As part of the Special Drive on 13th August 2025 for organizing a Mass Pledge Activity under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) initiated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with the Government of NCT of Delhi, the Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho-Panaji, conducted a Mass Pledge activity on campus.
The programme was held in the college hall from 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Principal, Dr. Russell D’Souza, and the event coordinator, Mr. Subodh Haldankar, along with the teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students, actively participated in taking a solemn pledge against substance abuse.
The initiative aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and to strengthen the collective resolve towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.
