Inter-Collegiate Competition 'Mystery Room'

 INSTRUCTIONS TO THE PARTICIPANTS

  1. "Blind date with a book" marketing campaign. Participants are challenged to create the most fascinating and interesting marketing campaign for a classic or underutilized library book in the college library.

Details:

  • The book will be provided at the venue
  • Based on the cover page of the book, you can decide the format of presentation i.e. either as a poster, a social media advertisement or a cover page.
  • Preparation time of 45 minutes is allotted
  • Presentation time is 3 minutes per team
  • Maximum number of students in the team is 4

    From Page to Stage – Participants transform written characters into living figures. They enact the story from a novel titled “Little Women by Louisa May Alcott”.

Details:

  • Participants to bring their own props and costumes
  • Presentation time is 20 minutes per team
  • Stage set-up time of 3 minutes will be given to each team
  • Audio files if any must be in MP3 (.mp3)
  • Maximum number of students in the team is 6

    Race to Find - Participants will be given a list of book titles (four books per team). These are to be located in the library (or designated area) as quickly as possible. This task tests their library navigation skills, observation, and strategy.

  • A maximum of 15 minutes is assigned to complete the task
  • Maximum number of students in the team is 3

    Runny words - “Runny Words” is a fast-paced, creative language challenge that encourages students to think critically, write grammatically, and creatively integrate academic vocabulary.

                     ​Details:

  • You have to construct a grammatically correct, meaningful, and creative sentence using 14 subject titles available in the library’s collection.
  • The library holds books ranging from subjects like History, Literature, Mathematics, Art, Geography, sociology, psychology etc
  • The participating teams will strictly use 14 book titles.
  • Preparation time of 15 minutes is allotted
  • Presentation time is 3 minutes per team
  • Maximum number of students in the team is 3
