Virtual Award Presentation and Workshop for Swachhta Action Plan by MGNCRE, DHE, MoE, GoI On 17th August, 2021

“Working with the district as the base will streamline the Swachhta related work mechanism of HEIs and build a bottoms-up approach for work dissemination. The Department of Higher Education has set forth practices that must be implemented in all HEIs. I would exhort all institutions to meticulously follow the parameters of campus hygiene laid out in Swachh Campus and Jal Shakti Manuals so that the minds of the student’s flower in a clean and pure campus atmosphere. The District Collectorate support will be there and I would request MGNCRE to continuously remain in touch with us and share the progress”, said Ms. Mamu Hage, I.A.S., Additional Collector – II, North Goa District during a Virtual Award Presentation and District Level Workshop on Swachhta Action Plan 2021-22 organized by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India as part of the  “One District One Green Champion Awards 2020-21” on 17th August, 2021. The award was bagged by Nirmala Institute of Education, Panaji from North Goa District. 

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) or the Clean India Mission is country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014. Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) under the Swachh Bharat Mission Abhiyan helps Higher Educational Institutions to plan and implement best practices in the areas of Sanitation & Hygiene, Water Management, Waste Management, Energy Management and Greenery Management in the College Campuses

On this occasion Ms. Mamu Hage, I.A.S., Additional Collector – II, North Goa District presented the certificate virtually to the College Principal, Dr Delia Antao as its recognized as “DISTRICT GREEN CHAMPION” for North Goa District for the academic year 2020-2021. Dr Delia Antao, Principal of Nirmala College of Education shared the various activities done in the campus, internship schools and the neighbourhood community/locality of the students. Workshop Participants shared Swachhta best practices being implemented in their institutions.

Ms. Padma Juluri, MGNCRE Program Coordinator, presented an overview of MGNCRE’s Swachhta Action Plan 2020-21 and also shared various aspects of SAP 2021-22 with institutions who attended the programme in the online workshop.
