As part of the nationwide campaign to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) initiated by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), Government of India, the Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho-Panaji, organized a Mass Pledge activity on campus. The pledge-taking ceremony at the Institute was organized in the college auditorium on 3rd October 2025 from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
4R's ECO-SUSTAINABLE PROJECT Launch
The NIE- SWACHHATA ABHIYAN CELL under the aegis of IQAC launched a 4-R's ECO-SUSTAINABLE PROJECT on 15th July 2024 at 3:30pm on the occasion of the UNESCO- World Youth Skill Day.
‘Youth Skills for Peace and Development’ as this year's theme, the UNESCO - emphasizes young people's role as agents of peace and sustainable progress. The day aims to promote awareness and understanding of the importance of youth skills development in response to the challenges of unemployment and underemployment faced by young people globally.
On the occasion the officiating Principal Dr. Delia Antao initiated the Sambrani Cone Project. While addressing the gathering Dr.Antao stressed on the need to unburden the environment with judicious use of resources and set a path for future generations with sustainable lifestyles.
The NIE-SAC Team under the able guidance of the faculty Mr.Raymond Pereira (Coordinator), Mrs.Suvarna Gauns, Mr.Subodh Haldankar, Ms.Ninoschka Pinto along with the trainees intends to take up issue based projects and find innovative, sustainable solutions or develop newer means, modes to work and make things differently through upcycling, repurposing, etc.The group aims to promote eco-friendly living that can sustain an individual, a community and make a difference in society; utilizing the ethos of age old traditions, conventional methods with cutting edge technology to ideate, develop and promote sustainability.
